Our services are delivered by experienced Consultants in Pain Management who specialise in reducing pain and improving well-being. We work closely with physiotherapists and psychologists to ensure you receive the most effective outcome. What Is Chronic Pain?

Chronic pain is long-term discomfort that can result from a range of medical issues. Unlike acute pain, which serves as a warning sign, chronic pain continues without a clear purpose. It can interfere with sleep, mood, mobility and relationships, often reducing a person’s quality of life.

Although many chronic pain conditions do not yet have a cure, their impact can be reduced. Our clinic uses a bio-psycho-social model of care, which recognises the influence of psychological and social factors alongside physical health. By treating the whole person, we help reduce both pain and its effects.

Founded in 2018 by Dr Gupta (MBBS, MD, FRCA, FFMRCA), Consultant in Pain Management and Anaesthesia, the clinic was established to provide fast access to consultant-led support for patients with long-standing pain conditions. Since then, we have expanded into a multidisciplinary team including Pain Management Consultants, Orthopaedic Surgeons, GPs, Radiographers, Healthcare Assistants, a Practice Manager and dedicated admin staff.

Meet the team

Dr Sameer Gupta

Director DRG Health Clinic

Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management
MBBS, MD, FRCA, FFPMRCA

Dr Gupta is an experienced anaesthetist and consultant in pain management. He was trained in India, Ireland and UK.
He did his pain training in Sheffield and at world renowned Walton centre in Liverpool and later joined as a consultant in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. He now works independently at DRG health Clinic, Circle Health Group and Spire Healthcare.
Dr Gupta is chair of South Yorkshire Pain Group and organises meeting and education activities for Pain consultants and GP’s within the region. He is an appraiser for secondary care consultants and OSCE examiner for medical students.

Dr Gupta’s vision is to create an environment for a personalised Pain Management/ treatment plan where various treatments can be accessed at one place.

Dr Bharati Vyawahare

MBBS, FRCA, CCST, FFPMRCA
Consultant in Pain Medicine
Pelvic pain Specialist.

Dr. Bharati Vyawahare is a consultant in pain medicine and specialises specifically in Pelvic pain Management. She runs weekly pelvic pain multidisciplinary clinics at Wythenshawe.

Dr Vyawahare is on the Pelvic Pain Committee panel at the European Association of Urology (UroWeb.org) and actively contribute to the guidelines.

She completed UK specialist anaesthetic training and a Pain Medicine fellowship in NorthEast England. She is working as a Consultant in Pain Medicine at Manchester Foundation NHS Trust, based at Wythenshawe Hospital, which is a busy teaching University Hospital. Her special interest is in treating pelvic pain, neuropathic pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, and post-surgical neuropathic pain. She treats a wide range of adult female and male pelvic pain conditions, including mesh complications, vulvodynia, pudendal neuropathy, endometriosis, bladder pain syndrome, rectal pain, PGAD, penile and testicular pain, proctalgia, prostatitis, and coccydynia.

Dr Vyawahare is actively involved in undergraduate medical teaching and is an examiner at Manchester University. She is the local pain medicine educational supervisor for specialty trainees in the NorthWest region.
She speaks and understands English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, and Punjabi.

Dr Mahmoud Alkholany

Consultant Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia

Dr Mahmoud Alkholany is an interventional and Neuromodulation Pain and Anaesthesia consultant based in Northwest of England. He has more than 15 years of experience in his field. Dr Alkholany adopts a holistic approach to managing chronic pain conditions placing in the centre patients’ quality of life and return to normal function as ultimate goals , minding the complex nature of chronic pain being a multidimensional bio-psycho-social disorder, employing a wide range of fluoroscopy and US guided interventional pain procedures and pharmacologic management hand in hand with rehabilitation through physiotherapy input as well as psychologic management whenever indicated to achieve best results for his patients.
He has special interest in managing spine axial and radicular related pain as well as musculoskeletal related pain arising from large joints and neuropathic pain conditions in addition to special interest in Neuromodulation for various indications.
